Respiratory Therapy is a great field to get into. It is estimated by recent labor statistics that within the next six years there is going to be an increase in demand for certified and trained Respiratory Therapists. Respiratory Therapists work with people from infancy to seniors. Many of the people that are seen by Respiratory Specialists have breathing issues or Cardiopulmonary Disorders. Therapists are trained in treating people using oxygen as well as oxygen mixtures. It is important that Respiratory Therapists are familiar and comfortable using computers. Schooling

If you are interested in becoming a Respiratory Therapist you will need at minimum 2 years of schooling in order to receive your Associate’s Degree. You can however choose to get your Bachelor’s Degree and then go on for your Master’s Degree. The higher the degree you have the more of a chance there is for you to advance in your career and make a higher salary. While you are in school you will be expected to take a great deal of science classes. You will also have to take some classes that are more jobs specific in order to deal specifically with cases that will require your services.
