About Respiratory Therapist Jobs
Respiratory Therapy is a great field to get into. It is estimated that in the next six years there will be a 19% increase in job availability in this particular medical field. Respiratory Therapists are extremely intelligent well trained medical professionals that work with patients of all ages. Many of the patients that they work with have respiratory diseases or have undergone some form of trauma that has restricted their airways or breathing. It is common for Respiratory Therapists to work with stroke victims, victims of heart attacks, drowning or shock victims. Respiratory Therapists need to be compassionate, detail oriented and patient individuals.
Two years of school is required at minimum to become a Respiratory Therapist. You can however go to school to get your Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree as well. When you receive your Bachelor’s Degree or Master’s Degree the job opportunities will be much greater as will be the salary that you will earn while working as a Respiratory Therapist. The higher the degree you earn the more chances there will be for you to climb the professional ladder and be promoted to higher positions.
